MACKENZIE KELLY: Well, there's no doubt in my mind that we have a lot of individuals on the streets that are experiencing homelessness that need a place to go. Is the council taking the right approach to providing shelter for those people who are in need? MIKE WARREN: City Council also approved using the marshaling yard near the airport as a temporary homeless shelter. So I'm still digging into the details, and I'm looking forward to finding more areas of opportunity to improve public safety in the city of Austin. And we won't see that in the budget until 2025. One of the things I was very disappointed in was to find out that an aerial firetruck that was approved for purchase through a resolution that I brought forward this year was not in that budget. What I'm going to be focused on as far as public safety goes is ensuring that we have the infrastructure in place to hold enough academies to bring in individuals from the community in order to work in those positions.
